To highlight the credibility of her reputation in the Chinese-Philippine relationship further, in spite of the differences with the Hong Kong government, Kaisa was able to receive more than P10 Million pesos grant from the HK government and boats from the HK Yacht Club for the relief and livelihood of Yolanda Victims. She is doing all of this at 64 years old. She has helped many organizations grow from being ad-hoc operations to becoming institutions that continue to uplift the lives of their members and society. 1. Philippine Chinese Friendship Club (the adjective) or 2. Philippines China Friendship Club (The Country). Which one is more correct? It seems the first one is technically more correct, however the concern is due to the fact that many "Pinoys" in China right now are Tsinoys, there is the danger that a politically incorrect name may further widen a chasm that the club is actually striving to overcome. The few "real" Pinoys have expressed their confusion in the club name. For instance, when we say Filipino-Chinese, does that include the native Filpinos without Chinese ethnicity. The confusion stems from the fact the the the Pinoys think the Tsinoys are different from Pinoys. Which do you think is more "correct"? For what reasons? In extension, should "Filipinos" be used instead? Feel free to use the comments section below to brainstorm possible concern and potentially help identify opportunities for growth which starts from a good, inclusive foundation. **Disclaimer, PCFC believes that, and as most of them would attest, Tsinoys are Pinoys. Though there may be some apparent differences between the Chinese-Filipinos and the native-Filipinos, ultimately all of us have benefited from the generosity of the mother-country which we call the Philippines, and for this we are all her children. |
